They had scheduled activities for them to do, like crafts and puzzles. They had a laundry facility I believe on every floor. They had games and puzzles at the particular place where the laundry was. So, they had things for them to do while they were waiting for their laundry. What I liked best about Broadmoor was that my mom was pleased with it and she felt she could fit in.
They took it upon themselves to give her potassium pills. Her legs and feet were so swollen when I picked her up. The final straw was letting her sit in soiled undergarments for more than 3.5 hours. She asked to be cleaned up and the nurse told her she'd have to wait they were busy. However my mother could see them laughing and walking around drinking sodas. They did not clean her up until I was in the lobby to get her.

It was a room with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. The staff was all really nice, very helpful, and gave a lot of advice. They could sit around, they had a piano there, but I didn't observe any activities.
